In 1986, the London Borough of Hackney established the Hackney Museum. Its remit is to collect, preserve and interpret evidence regarding the history of Hackney and the worldwide roots of its people. The museum service moved into its new home, the Hackney Technology Learning Centre (TLC), on March 13th 2002. The Museum includes state of the art displays, an education room and object stores.
